I predict a highly probability that a new wave is coming in high-end audio loudspeakers. The today’s high-end audio the loudspeakers field is in a complex stagnation, the stagnation that will lead to the need to invent a new ways to sell loudspeakers...
In the world or audio you learn new and interesting facts every day. AC caps (ceramic, electrolytic, polyester and polypropylene metallized foil types) can buzz at various frequencies. This is not nonsense, and is quite...

I had one for about a week and was not happy. Switched to a Kenwood KT1100.
Here an honest review that matches my experience. Bottom line is that on stuff this old, the individual buyer will determine the price, not the market.
For years, I used to have passive line level filters and tube amps - single ended 45's and 2A3's.
To make a long story short I am much happier now. Screw tubes ! ( Don't hate me. )
Kerry, I do not think that som...

Well, I do not measure the difference between S2 metal and white
plastic. I do not know what white plastic composition is, I think it is Polypropylene
reinforced by fiber but I might be mistaken. The metal suspension diaphragms are
not too much us...

OK, thanks. I would leave for others to decide what the “higher resolution image” might mean. It might be some kind of untranslatable Japanese folklore. The more vibrant color palette is definably a valid accomplishment, no one knows through if it is...
Hi, I am slowly building my own Macondo. I understand why the injection channel is there. It brings some kind of softness that the compression drivers lack.
OK, but it is not how I feel about the service of injection...

As I wrote before I picked some Vitavox S3 driver.

and I was expediting with them recently to use in Fundamental Chanel. My idea was that S3 might care LF knee better then S2. In past I had S3 ...

This is normal, I have written about it many times. Those large bass drivers have a lot...
Regarding cone movement versus rear chamber pressure : I understand that low excursion explains to a great extent, the advantages of horn-loaded designs, I just don't understand how something that "does not move", can gen...

In all those conversations about SET vs SS there is one important
element that is allays escapes people attention. People like or do not like

The most interesting sensation was ironically the very best sound at the show.
Friday night around 2AM I found myself completely lost in the Nevada desert approximately 40-50 mines from Vegas. To understand how it was it should be explained that the...

I have seen that people online react surprisingly to my post above. Hey are accustom that I am hyper-demanding and tough for production of DIY speaker attempts but above I suddenly proposed to relatively mediocre speaker to become the become th...

Yes indeed. The company was originally Nova Physics and appears to have been sold on to Sam Laufer, a lawyer by profession originally who brought in Mark Porzilli of Melos and Pipedreams fame. I do not know if this company actually manufactures or se...

None of the above.
I know you weren’t asking me, but you missed that option. The best solution, in my opinion of course, is no vibraplane or anything soft at all beneath the 5000,...

I do not think that it is socket different. The socket is
invisible and it appears rather a standard Russian ceramic socket. What is unusual
is that the tube has a harness that typically used for permitting the tube to
work upside down and under d...

Thanks for the detailed answers. I will explain my setup. You are right about the dipole bass correction instead of the injection channel. Since I am waiting for both a subwoofer and the Fane Studio 8M and their horn, I am using the 12" as a b...

Hello,
After buying replacement sockets for the 6C33Cs and keeping them stored
for months, I finally fitted them. I had been having the signs of tubes
dying for several weeks: thumps in the bass drivers when warming up,
after about 15/30 minut...

Well, whatever you do with your loudspeakers of with you whole playback system is kind of irrelevant if your drivers are not right. In my view the drivers are the very much heart of playback but in case of High-Efficiency and particularly horn-loaded...
